'Best in Class' Win for GeoSpock

GeoSpock Founder Dr Steve Marsh picked up prize in 'UK Data Entrepreneur Category' of the Data 50 Awards

The Data 50 Awards, is the UK’s premier initiative for celebrating data leadership and excellence, recognising the top individuals and companies creating business value and innovation from data. The awards honour people and firms at the forefront of data – those transforming organisations and enhancing decision-making through its use, managing and controlling its proliferating growth, and driving business value.

The ceremony, attended by around 300 sector leaders, not only celebrated all of those induced into the Data 50 programme this year but also revealed the winners of 12 ‘Best in Class’ categories.

Steve Marsh, CEO and co-founder of GeoSpock, beat nine other founders in the 'UK Data Entrepreneur' Category of the Awards.

Commenting on the win Steve Marsh said, “It’s an honour to be recognised for all the hard work we have put in over the past few years. GeoSpock is poised to revolutionise how data is organised, stored and analysed, and knowing that other people see the scale and value of the problems we have been solving is a great validation point.”

GeoSpock Lands £10 Million in Additional Funding

ideaSpace alumni and extreme data specialists, GeoSpock, have secured an extra  £10 million in funding. The latest round was led by Cambridge Innovation Capital (CIC) jointly with Parkwalk Advisors and Japanese firms Global Brain and 31Ventures. Japanese data tech company KDDI Supership joined as a strategic investor. Investment was also secured from existing investor, Jonathan Milner.

2019 is off to a great start for the Petagene team who have been awarded $2.1 million in additional funding. The latest round was lead by U.S. venture firm Romulus Capital, with collaboration from other unnamed investors in London and Silicon Valley, bringing the total funding awarded to $3.2 million.
