Two ideaSpace Members Scoop Prizes at 7th Annual Discovering Start-Ups Competition!

The winners were announced on Wednesday 19th October 2016 following pitches from all of the ten finalists, including ideaSpace West member company dividiti, to a panel of senior judges at Deloitte HQ in London. 

Judges included tech business leaders and investors from BT, Amazon, ARM, Samsung and UK Business Angels.

David Cobb, innovation tax partner at Deloitte and one of the judges, said: “Congratulations to the winners, 8power, AlgoDynamix and Focal Point Positioning, who each showed a great breadth of technology expertise and business acumen”.

The winners will receive:

 • A free of charge innovation showcase plinth at the major conference Innovate 2016

• A delegate pass for the 2017 Future of Wireless International Conference

• Free year’s CW Founder Membership

• Ticket to attend the 2017 Mobile World Congress in Barcelona courtesy of Tradefair and the Department of International Trade

• A secured place in the semi-finals of the £50K Wayra Acceleration programme

In addition, all the ten shortlisted finalists have the opportunity to meet with and receive support from the Department of International Trade (DIT) Venture Capital Unit.

It was 10 years ago in June that ideaSpace welcomed its first member. The first of its kind in Cambridge, ideaSpace became home to a range of exciting start-ups – many of which have gone on to great success. We grew too – opening a second office in the city centre in 2013 and ideaSpace South three years later, on the Cambridge Biomedical Campus. We are continuing to celebrate a decade of community with our ‘Focus on a Founder’ series. This week we spoke to Alexandra Grigore of Simprints who joined ideaSpace back in 2014.
