Mixcloud Strike a Multi-Year Agreement With Universal Music Group

ideaSpace West member Mixcloud has signed a deal with the world's largest record label.

Praising Mixcloud’s development of an “innovative platform,” James Healy, UMG’s Vice President of Digital Business, explained how both companies will work together: 


“Working together, we will expand the programming that’s available across Mixcloud and give their passionate fans more choice over how they consume music and interact with their favourite artists."

Speaking on the service's long-term future plans following its UMG deal, Nico Perez, Co-Founder at Mixcloud, said:

“Our focus has always been on empowering artists and curators alike, and this deal with Universal Music will help us usher in a new era of collaboration in which everyone wins."

The first of its kind in Cambridge, ideaSpace became home to a range of exciting start-ups – many of which have gone on to great success. We grew too – opening a second office in the city centre in 2013 and ideaSpace South three years later, on the Cambridge Biomedical Campus.
